Peskov: Russia’s economic growth of 3% not enough
MOSCOW, Nov 20 (PRIME) -- The expected economic expansion of 3% of gross domestic product (GDP) per year is not enough, it should be higher, President Vladimir Putin’s spokesman Dmitry Peskov said in an interview published on November 19.
“This shows that we have great potential that allows us to withstand any blows during the period of maximum mobilization and internal concentration. Our immediate goal is to maintain the growth dynamics, but growth of 3% is not enough, it should be higher and everyone understands that. We have to compensate for a lot of gaps,” he said.
The unprecedented sanctions created a threat of the Russian economy failing completely, but mobilization of internal resources and intelligent decisions of the Russian government managed to stabilize the economy, Peskov said.
